Shorrock Gardens Rehabilitation & Care Center now accepts Aetna health coverage plans.

BRICK, NJ—October 20, 2009—Shorrock Gardens Rehabilitation & Care Center, a multi-purpose residence providing the elderly with therapeutic rehabilitation services, nursing care, specialized dementia care and assisted living, recently signed a contract to participate with Aetna health insurance plans.

Shorrock Gardens has always accepted traditional Medicare and Medicaid benefits and will continue to do so. In addition, those with the means to pay for resident care will have that option. The new agreement with Aetna makes the outstanding level of care available to a greatly expanded group of area residents. With more than 19 million medical members, Aetna is one of the nation’s leaders in health care coverage. For two consecutive years, Aetna has ranked as the Most Admired Company among Health Care Insurers in a survey conducted by FORTUNE magazine.

Dr. Joshua R. Shua-Haim distinguished geritrician, to head dementia care at the Haven At Shorrock Gardens

BRICK, NJ—April 3, 2009—The Haven at Shorrock Gardens, an assisted living facility specializing in the care of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, is pleased to welcome Joshua R. Shua-Haim, MD, FACP, AGSF, CMD. Dr. Shua-Haim will manage the dementia populations at the residence, assisted by Consulting Geriatrician Dr. Paul Lee, MD. Shorrock Gardens Care Center enlists to help support Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

December 2008 -Shorrock Gardens Care Center has enlisted with the Marine Corps…enlisted, that is, to assist in their annual Toys for Tots holiday toy drive.

In the spirit of the holidays, Shorrock has signed on to become the newest drop-off point for the program, which collects and distributes toys for needy children. Anyone is welcome to bring new, unwrapped toys to the main lobby of Shorrock Gardens Care Center at 75 Old Toms River Road in Brick. The lobby is open daily from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. TOYS MUST BE DROPPED OFF BY DECEMBER 15TH FOR HOLIDAY DISTRIBUTION. Once collected, toys are sorted for boys and girls and for various age groups, then distributed through the Marine Corps program.

BRICK, NJ-The very difficult decision of choosing a nursing home facility for a loved one often involves various family members. That’s exactly why family surveys are such an important tool for evaluating the quality of the care and the staff at nursing facilities. And Shorrock Gardens Care Center is proud to share the results of their most recent family satisfaction survey.

Families were asked a series of questions that could be answered in only one of four ways: 1. Excellent; 2. Good; 3. Fair; and 4. Poor.
